Waste Management Data Center

Schmidt Electric provided electrical services for a new data center for Waste Management. It features a 10,000-square-foot data center and a 30,000-square-foot data recovery center in an existing 250,000-square-foot tilt-wall warehouse and was completed in 4.5 months. 

Our scope included dual utility service entries and 100% on-site N+1 uninterrupted power supply (UPS). For more flexibility, the power supply included two separate feeds from two transformers controlled by a tie switch. 

Schmidt worked with GE to design a special piece of switchgear to bring power into phase when it was supplied from different sources entering the building.
