Austin Community College – Highland Mall Center

Schmidt Electric provided electrical construction for this two-phase project that converted a former shopping center, the Highland Mall, into multi-use campus for Austin Community College. 

The first phase included a complete remodel of an existing retail space—including power, lighting, fire alarm, and data/communications/security pathways—creating a 200,000 square foot learning center. The second phase converted 400,000 square feet of the existing mall space into science labs, a creative digital media center, and studios for Austin PBS.
